Valuations are a critical aspect of insurance and risk management providing a basis for the replacement cost of properties. Given the rapidly increasing costs of materials and construction, many clients’ valuations are outdated, leading to potential underinsurance. Archipelago’s new Valuations Outlier Detection is designed to address this issue by notifying you of properties that lie outside the statistical norms for their area and building type.

How the Valuations Feature Works

  1. Uses data from millions of buildings: The feature queries millions of properties on our platform to obtain a replacement cost per square footage range, factoring in variables like building location and occupancy.
  2. Diagnostic Tool with PreCheck: Brokers upload the Statement of Values (SOV), and the PreCheck evaluates the replacement costs, highlighting under- or overinsured properties.
  3. Prioritized Action: The tool prioritizes properties that need appraisals, guiding brokers to recommend necessary adjustments to clients.

The feature is included within the Archipelago platform fee, making it a cost-effective solution without additional hidden charges.
